OK, as you should know by now, all of the posts I have made up to this point have been historical posts of the building of the table that happened between the fall of 2019 and the fall of 2021. Most of the pictures have already been posted in Facebook, but I wanted to build this blog from the ground up as a place someone could go to see my hobby from the beginning. That’s not so easy to go back and do on Facebook.
So I thought I would interrupt my historical posts to bring you to the present for a moment. After the table build I finally unboxed all my stuff that had been packed away for 20 years. I will be posting that too. I also found that the foundational wiring under the table top was not complete. I am also working on that although I don’t know if I’ll have any pictures of that. It’s cramped and uncomfortable working under the table. If I can get some pictures, I will.
There is something a little more “fun” that I’ve been working on, and that’s the layout. I wanted to do it on the computer but it was really hard finding software. The software I ended up with was apparently popular a decade or so back but has long since been unsupported. It works though and that’s the important part.
The software does allow you to keep track of your track so you can tell if you have enough of certain pieces to make the layout you want. So, I had to count all my track. It turns out I had a lot more than I thought I did. In fact, I have more than enough. If I keep the layout I show you here, I’ll have to pack a lot of it back into boxes when I’m done putting it together.

I know it!

I was wondering where the starting point actually is in 1885. I guess it doesn’t matter. I was just wondering where you would start your car running.

If you mean, 1985, where the arrow begins (the tail end) is about where I think it should be.

So, it starts in 1985 and goes to 1955. Then it goes back to 1985. Then it goes to 2015 and and then to an alternate 1985. From the alternate 1985 it goes to 1885, back to the original 1985. Is that right?

Except for the last part. When they leave the alternate 1985, they go back to 1955 first to get the almanac from Biff. From there the Doc accidentally gets zapped to 1885…
